Wow – our new look Health and Leisure Centre

Gym Photos 2 Gym Photos 3 Gym Photos 4 Gym shotsWe have been very excited by the reopening of Wymondham’s Health and Leisure Centre after its 3 million pound refurbishment.  With the addition of a Spa and Cafe, upgrade of the changing areas for the swimming pool as well as the addition of extra rooms for classes, the enlarging of the existing Gym area,  and an increase in the space and number of machines it has certainly been worth the wait.  As regular users, its proximity a mere 4 minute walk away means it is easy for us to incorporate it into our day.  Ideal too for our guests at ’61 on Folly’ who enjoy keeping fit as it also operates on a pay as you go basis.  Check it all out out on the link below

Spring is here

Blackbird Nesting 20160413_105750_resized

The fine weather we have been having recently has brought the courtyard and garden at 61 on Folly Bed & Breakfast Suites to life.  The Clematis and Wisteria are starting to bud and soon the courtyard and driveway will be awash with an array of vibrant pink, purple and white flowers.  The Lavender and Fuchsia are slowly waking from their winter dormancy and we have a blackbird nesting as she prepares to introduce her new offspring to the Norfolk air.  It really is a very special time of year.

How important is the internet?

Well, we opened the doors to ’61 on Folly’ on 5th December,  although only got going in earnest at the start of 2016 as we figured out how to start using the internet as an advertising tool!  Since then we have been blessed with visitors from as far a field as Spain and the USA as well as the length and breadth of the UK.

We have wondered how guests found a bed and breakfast establishment years ago before the birth of Google, Trip Advisor and the like.  Even we can’t remember how we did it but we did it (Directory Enquiries? phoning the local tourist board?)  It is hard to imagine running a business or indeed even being a customer these days without this most powerful technological tool.  We have also learned very quickly that sites like Trip Advisor make you strive for excellence as nothing advertises better than word of mouth.  Ultimately it’s more meaningful to potential customers (an indeed us) if our guests take the time to write a complimentary review rather than here from us how good we think we are.

Many thanks to all our guests who have helped us along in our first few months in business through their custom and the reviews they have left us, both on Trip Advisor and in our Guest Comments book.

Erna and Dave.

After a week of record high temperatures and the garden finally awakening after a not so mild winter, the rain and cold sent everything back to sleep again. Promises of a heat wave this weekend should encourage the wakening process to restart and the courtyard will be bathed in colour again. We are entering our […]Read More »
